Social responsibility is something we place at the heart of everything we do and recognition of this by Harper’s Bazaar means a lot to us. Our aim is to create effective, award winning skincare products that make no ethical compromise.

We are proud to share the fact that Harper’s Bazaar awarded Nêô Sephiri’s Pure Kalahari Melon Facial Oil as the Best Socially Responsible Luxury Oil of 2021.

SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE SKINCARE OIL

The journey towards creating a product that sits amongst the best skincare products available across the world, in particular the best facial skincare products, originated from a climate change intervention, when the worst drought for 80 years decimated our farm and the surrounding community in South Africa. We knew that an environmentally and socially sustainable business model was imperative, even before we started. 

Our hero ingredient, Kalahari Melon Oil, is produced in a region of southern Africa that has been subject to economic hardship in recent years. This was a result of a drought which was the original catalyst for this project, and over the last 10 years has become our new climate reality, and has led to the loss of several thousand jobs in our area. By making use of the drought-resistant biology of the Kalahari Melon, manufacturing an award winning skincare product provides a completely new, climate resilient livelihood for those living in this part of Africa and can restore much of the economic impacts caused by the ongoing drought. For us, sustainability and social responsibility is completely intertwined with our project and mission. We are taking positive steps and giving back to local communities, rather than simply mitigating the effects of what we do.
